I believe Min, that muslims maintain that the Qu'ran is Allah's point of view. Just trying to get an idea of exactly who we're dealing with here. I have very little knowledge of whats in the Qu'ran specifically. I have however seen Rayaan make the statement that Islam does not condone these sorts of things. If it turns out, that the Qu'ran plainly states that a man may beat his wife, or his children, but that a man may not himself be beaten by his wife or children....it may be disingenuous to claim that the Qu'ran doesn't promote or foster these sorts of acts, that it does not promote violence or sexism. He seems to cling to the idea that it may be permitted, but not promoted. I'm not sure of the difference in the context.
