Capitalism doesn't give two shits about what governments do re people's private lives. The only interest of capitalist thinkers is ensuring that no rules are put in place to restrict owners of capital or their agents from maximising profits.
In fact I would go so far as to say, that in order to survive and prosper, the economic system called capitalism needs to exist within a very intrusive dictatorship.

Actually statistically most americans are already fairly liberal when polled issue by issue.
Trump promised universal healthcare, I don't know why anyone believed him when he could not present an actual plan to do that.

The idea that people get right wing as they age is a myth. What happens is that most people's ideals and prejudices tend to fix starting in their thirties, and where those opinions are on the political spectrum change.
For example one's racist granny was just as racist back in the fifties. Nobody noticed back then because such racism was mainstream. Now everybody notices because racism has become (in culture at least) an extreme view.
