So at worst (if you are anti abortion) they set things up.
Edit: I looked it up and there are exceptions for rape, incest and health of the mother.

Correct, planned parenthood does not use taxpayer money to fund abortion procedures. That isn't enough for conservatives. The fact that they even offer the procedure legally is enough to make them want it shut down.

Quote:Most of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding is from Medicaid reimbursements for preventive care, and some is from Title X. There’s no keep-Planned-Parenthood-running part of the federal budget.
Quote:Here’s where “defunding” comes in:
At least 60% of Planned Parenthood patients rely on public health programs like Medicaid and Title X for their preventive and primary care. So, when you hear extreme politicians talking about “defunding” Planned Parenthood, they really mean blocking patients who rely on public health care programs from getting their care at Planned Parenthood centers
But consider this. Many many hospitals also offer the procedure. Sure, maybe the "Our holy sisters of fake history" hospital might not, but many non-religiously affiliated hospitals do offer abortions. Hospitals also treat patients who use Medicare and Medicaid which is taxpayer funded. Wouldn't logic dictate that conservatives would also want to shut down all these hospitals as well? If they did, where would all the hillbillies get there care when they can't run to the ED with a toothache because they haven't seen a toothbrush in their lives?
Old assholes (republican base) don't go to planned parenthood. They go to the clinic and their associated hospitals for care.
The attack on planned parenthood is an attack on women, it's an attack on access, and it's an attack on those of lower socioeconomic means. Abortion is an out of pocket expense so shutting down the place where it's cheaper is all they care about. The affluent woman probably isn't having an abortion at planned parenthood.
