This kind of attack executed by a local because his girlfriend left him wouldn't make international news, except that the London attack involved a ME person.
I think it makes the news when there is a good chance the motive for the attack is religious terrorism. Regardless of whether the person is brown or white. Because of what's going on in the world right now, terrorist attacks incite more fear in people than some dude who got dumped, for example.
