Well, it depends on what you're drinking. Ales and all that should be served at room temperature IMO, meanwhile lager should be served cold. There's nothing wrong with cold ales though, it's just a preference I suppose.

The majority of pubs over here serve their drinks cold, very cold. You guys must almost freeze your drinks or something if they are warm by your standards.

As for the electrical devices, can't you just buy a travel adapter?  

To the beer I like it very very cold hell I freeze glasses but again like you said preference

Tried an adaptor performance is terrible especially electronics (laptops)
