I as an atheist am no claiming that god doesn't exist. I simply rejected the claim theists have put forth.
The question matters only if you desire the correct answer to it. There is nothing wrong in admitting that you don't know.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
