I think he and people like him know this but are making the most of a tissue thin if not non-existent case.
I remember hearing that when I subjected myself to the masochistic torment of his fallacy-ridden twaddle listened to his "Case for Christ" on audio as I was driving one day and felt so bewildered by the sheer stupidity and wonder of how anyone could buy into this crap inspired. The reasoning is quite circular simple.
1. The Bible tells us Jesus is Lord.
2. We know this is true because Jesus fulfilled the Bible's prophecies (actually, no, he really didn't which is why the Jews didn't buy this crap)
3. We know that he fulfilled the Bible's prophecies because the Bible tells us he did. (actually, no, but let that go since the whole argument is laughably circular anyway).
