Parker’s mother died on December 26. When Father Benjamin Kneib of Saint Columban Catholic Church read that Parker’s mother was survived by a son, a daughter, and her daughter’s partner, Kneib contacted the couple to tell them they were no longer welcome in God’s house.

It's already too late to start banning communion to someone who's been going that long. Not to mention it's not as if the catholic's hands are clean in regards to inappropriate sexual conduct. At least when she touches someone's privates, it's a consenting adult.

Yeah, because he's just not there to perform a service for those in mourning; he's there to judge them on his god's behalf. What a presumptuous dick, if he really believes in his god, then I'm sure his god and handle Carol Parker on his own. Ironically such actions speak to the lack of faith of the priest to let their god handle his own shit...

I agree that the priest had the right to refuse communion, and to actually excommunicate the lesbian couple. However to tell them they are not welcome to come to church is not a Christ example of reaching out to people.
