I'm legitimately angry. I still don't see what's so funny. This is fucked up and I'm not trying to be an "internet tough guy" I'm trying to get help to track this guy so then I can actually act like an "internet tough guy."

Why do you not take me seriously?

I'd say it depends on what she showed in the pictures. If she got full on sexy, anyone who's balls enough to hack an email account is capable of about anything because in doing that they're looking for something personal of yours. The question I'd have is how they found my email. Bots roam the net and seek them out for SPAM and such. If you don't have your email marked private on forums profiles and any members there can go into your profile and see that email addy., that could be a source. It could be someone that knows you personally or solely on the net. So I'd take an inventory of what exactly they took and how it all relates to the worst possible scenario.

One safeguard with regard to forums memberships is to have a SPAM email account that you use solely to register on forums. That way if anyone gets your email through that route they find nothing personal. Just direct everything to your SPAM folder and have it automatically empty every 24 hours and you'll be set. Then find a secure email server for your personal stuff and don't give that out to anyone you don't know personally. While online contacts of any kind can be directed to that aforementioned SPAM account.

As for your GF, if she got risque' in the pictures, there's always something to worry about. People love porn. Look at all those homemade porno's that are on the markets now. Think of the level of voyeurism that's present every moment of every day when out in public and what with all the nifty electronic peepers that are able to video and upload to You Tube or emails in the blink of an eye. So what one thinks are private sexy pictures being sent to their BF or GF is never private. It's the net. And as you've learned, it's not safe.
Why worry? Will it change what is? Will it stop the piece of work that hacked your E from doing whatever they want with what they got? No. However, it will give them power over both of you if you worry and fret about what is outside of your control regarding their actions in future, using what they stole from you.

Instead, let this be a lesson. When sending or posting anything personal on the net think! Ask yourself, how would I feel if the whole world could see this? Which, with hackers, is quite possible. Empower yourself, not the hacker. Don't worry about what they'll do because that's nothing you can control. Instead work as hard as you'd worry about them making sure this never happens again, as much as you can work to insure that.

Hey, channel the rage out of yourself man. I go to the batting range when something has me ticked off. Wail hell out of that ball with everything I've got, picturing what or who I'm pissed at superimposed right on that ball. And then, SMACK! I beat hell out of it and it goes away and when it shows up again, I've lost that much steam from the first hit, so the second one isn't as mad because I let it out the first time. I do that until I'm exhausted, visualizing the whole time that every whack of that bat in contact with that ball (Troubles, asshat, etc...) releases my negative emotions about it so I can get rid of that and start to work on what empowers me in the situation instead of my adversary.

Besides, paying for a round in a batters cage is hella lot cheaper than all the costs that follow my putting my fist down some numbnuts throat and ripping out his tongue by the root. There's medical, court costs, fines, damages. Why pay an asshole for being an asshole with dings? And the real perk? No Felony on my record. While the batters cage manager loves me like a brother.
