I really do think humans take really needless risks far too much, and our WWE tough guy marketing unfortunately works to some degree. Real life doesn't always meet up with your intent. If there had been a child in the car, that would be more understandable. But no, I would have let him take it and called the police.
She was lucky he wasn't totally heartless and lucky he didn't use a weapon on her.
I have heard on news and TV interviews with criminals who hurt someone, and any cop will tell you most of the time the criminal says "I wouldn't have done that if they had not resisted".
No that is not victim blaming on my part. It is simply pointing out the math. Someone hurts you in any crime they are ALWAYS WRONG. But in surviving it isn't fight or flight but what works and what works most of the time is being non confrontational.
My advice, unless your profession is protecting the public leave that shit to the police. Unless you absolutely know your life is in direct danger and it is only the object they want, let them have it, the object can be replaced.
