Astute point, except that I think Trump is too prideful to "allow" anyone to do anything.

But you're spot-on in the implication that he is a tool to be used, and discarded when his utility runs out. Spot-on.

I think Mitch McConnell has said he's now basically making the same decisions a Jeb Bush would. Or any standard Republican.
