Trumps "leadership style" reminds of prime minster RB Bennett (he was PM during the depression ) He was often criticized to being over bearing  and arrogant and  autocratic when it came to decision making  . And may very well have extended to depression by 5 years in Canada . I think there is a lesson there .

Making extravagant promises, I see that similarity. I think Trump either isn't so forceful on the job, or the people around him know how to corral him.
