Well maybe we wouldn't have to look it up if Hillary talked more about issues in her speeches. When Bernie lost, he went to town halls, and wrote up some bills. Hillary lost, and ran off into the woods. We know what Bernie stood for, because he talked about it. We didn't hear Hillary say nearly as m
much about policy.
I didn't have to look it up. You did. The fact that you haven't even seen the Democratic Party platform and just wrote it off as pandering to centrists is pretty telling. It's been up, in this form, since before the convention almost a year ago. Bernie brought her and the party to the left. I voted for Bernie in the primaries. He lost by quite a comfortable margin. I agree the coverage of his campaign by the media was fucked, and the DNC was treasonous to its own people. But Hillary talked about this shit. Depending on who you talk to, talking too much about progressive issues was "why she lost."
When Bernie lost, he was a United States Senator. When Hillary lost, she was an unemployed woman who lost to a pussy grabbing man child who courted racists. When you get rejected by America in lieu of Donald Trump and you don't have any other commitments, maybe you get out of the public spotlight for a while. I am no fan of Hillary, and I hope she stays in the private sector making speeches. But the blind, seething hatred for Hillary Clinton was fomented not in small part by Russian social media campaigns during primary season, which were accepted whole heart by some Bernie supporters who saw her as the enemy, and they couldn't shake it once the primaries were over. It's so irrational in the face of Donald Trump---her platform, her issues, her voting record---you'd be hard pressed to find great chasms of difference in progressive or liberal issues and what she clearly stood for. People just bought into the Fox News hatred.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
