I'm all for it, especially for instances like yours. We don't want to get rid of government assistance programs, at least most Trump supporters I talk to agree with that. The point is to build the economy so those who are able to work but can't find a job, will be able to find a job, and get themselves off of welfare. The disabled should always receive assistance. I really don't think Trump wants to get rid of that, as much as the scare tactics and political pundits on the left are saying will happen.
In some areas, there are no jobs! I was an out-of-work IT professional, and no one wanted to hire me, much less interview me, and I had no baggage whatsoever. My present employer, finally, hired me 2 years ago, after some 15 attempts at getting a job here! I think that they had no choice but to hire me, as they are a government contractor. For years, I resented all of the foreign nationals (India, especially) who were in my town working a job that I, a native born American, would have loved to have had!! Is Trump going to change any of that? Maybe a little, by keeping more foreigners out of the country; however, as they are such a cheap source of labor, I think that Trump will know-tow to big business and simply allow them to come here and work at a reduced cost, which, by the way, as an American, I would have been very happy to have worked at "Indian wages"!
Ah yeah Americans in the IT industry has been hit hard by the H1-B visa program to bring in temporary foreign workers. Silicon valley is fighting Trump hard to keep that in place, but he does want to make changes to it. I also work for a fortune 500 company, and we outsource to WIPRO and the IT area seems to always have new people there. Trump is attempting to curb the program, but like I said, Silicon valley is resisting any changes. It's a major reason they rejected his MAGA America first platform.
