Yes, it totally is. Anyone can either dismiss it or enjoy it. That's 100% a personal decision. I don't in general make choices on the art I consume based on the personal life of the artist, but I can totally understand someone who believes he is a child molester not listening to his music. While he was alive, why would they want to contribute to his riches? Now that he's dead, why would they want to be reminded of what they think he's done? Your post makes it seem like we'd have no good art if it weren't for bad people, but there are plenty of great artists who aren't pedophiles. We'd be just fine without them. That said, Smooth Criminal is a fucking awesome song, if you can get the implication out of your head long enough to listen to it.
