RE: Definition of terrorism
Quote:Fair enough I'm wrong but judging on that link (the PDF) so might you be. The PDF is confusing anyway ... yes it says what you said it says but further up it says that in 2007 the Swedish Army had 47,000 personnel. That doesn't put them at much below the capability of the UK and if you add your home guard in (42,000 is a number I saw somewhere), and let's be honest here if they are mentioned in that PDF then they are a considered component of Swedish military strategy, then that figure rises considerably. The PDF also mentions over half-a-million people in voluntary defence associations.

The number reserves is more likely to be below 250 000. Since miltary training is not something everyone does anymore, I for instanst just had to say no thank you and I didn't have to do it.

It's around 250 000 time but it will decrease in the next decade. It's possible that it's 500 000, I will check it out.

However reservers is just when the country invades, they are not "armed forces". They don't have acces to weapons. they have just done some military training. Often a long time ago.

They who do miltary setvice today is suppose to be part of the miltary force in foreign operations and be proffesional. Atleast many of they who do it today, which are very few.

The miltary in general have no co operation with the police or any oragnisation at all, more then the goverment- which they are not directly controlled by. Since the beginning of 1900, can't miltary be used in the country and is not allowed to do any operations at all.
