Depending on the college, I'd believe it. Though if I was a professor and had an adult who turned a paper in with their sources being "some random people on the internet," I doubt I'd be super pleased.
Maybe the prof wants limited exposure to heathens. Can't take the chance of to much "dark side" influence.
