I like hunting. I'd kill a deer for a years worth of meat in the freezer. But at some point you have to look at the benefits and the price of human blood and ask, is it worth it?
A settler in the 1800s might not have gotten eaten by a bear at one point, but too there wouldn't have been rivers of blood spilt in the Revolutionary war.

The movie Bunraku firmly shatters that wishful thinking's efficacy as far as curbing violence. Actually a really great film, totally underrated and not well known despite the cast being very prominent.
Me personally, if I had one wish? I'd wish to go back to my infant self with every bit of knowledge and memory I possess now.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
