Wouldn't life get tedious and unrewarding if everything was so simple it was just handed to us? Struggle defines us. That's why an eternal paradise is such an unattractive prospect. Even if you want to narrow the scope of adversity like that, I don't think it would do a person any good. Minimize it, sure, but don't eliminate it altogether.
