I remember that my former religion teacher once told us about a girl who had long hair. She didn't wear a batik at church and her hair cached fire from a lighted candle. The teacher told us, that it would be good if girls with log hair would wear Batiks at church because of that.
I don't know if this story is true, or if she wanted to scare us, but either way it's ridiculous.
What about guys with long hair? Should they be forced to cut their hair short or should they wear batiks too?
A batik isn't inflamable, it can protect you somehow, because it stops your hair form floating around. But tying your hair, without a wearing a batik would be just as effective. Not to mention that your clothes as well as your entire body can catch fire. By my teachers logic, it would be the best not to go to church at all to avoid getting burned, especially because in Romania we use traditional, long candles and we also use them very often.
