Old Testament God teaches us to cure tuberculosis by sprinkling birds blood on our home's walls using a living birds flapping wings as a brush. No mention of boiling our water before drinking. Did God not know about salmonella typhus or vibrio cholerae? God had not looked through his own omniscient microscope yet? Funny how God only knows what people already know.
