Sorry, but I don't really see the NRA article as inciting or promoting violence against media outlets.  Yes, uninformed rants like this may trigger some nutcase to do something stupid, but that's what nutcases do.

What was your standard for determining if the NRA video was acceptable? 

I admit I was just judging both sociopolitical spectrums and just using my own personal feelings but what if such a video did spark violence and reactions en masse. How would you determine the video as threatening then?

I didn't say it was 'acceptable', I said it didn't seem to be promoting violence.

I don't care if it sparks reactions (for example, I'm reacting to it right now, and I haven't shot anyone).  If it sparks violence, I will dejectedly admit I was wrong. But I still wouldn't consider the vid as 'threatening'.  As for 'en masse', I doubt very much that the majority of gun owners are going to see this and start looking for NYT reporters to shoot.
