My health is fine FYI. I am simply tired of one lobby holding our entire nation hostage to the tune of 36,000 firearm deaths per year.
This is a great example of what the NRA actually does. Do they seem to be advancing or protecting profits here....or a political ideology?
While the NRA fluffs for fake news and trumpsterism - the NSSF quietly lobbies for deregulation on arms embargo to active warzones and states under UN sanction. Additionally, they seek legislation that would allow them to conceal the end user and per unit value on any international transactions - largely a corporate PR issue when the end user is a human rights abuser - it interferes with bidding for DOD contracts; they don't want Uncle Sam to know how cheap they'll sell equipment in bulk to a despot.
The NRA is still part of it, no not it's donaters per se. But as an organization lobby, it is part of a bigger global weapons industry and guns, like jets and tanks are big business. Violence is profitable, be it war or domestic crime. Fear sells.

Now do what you do best and take this perfectly innocuous statement and interpret it to mean that I don't support restrictions on firearms.

I did not miss that point. Again, this one add is not the sum of what the NRA does long term as far as tactic. No different than why dems keep losing elections because we don't think long term like the GOP does.
It still sells fear the same fear that allows 45 to gain support by saying "Fake News", it is still red meat to keep bad policy.
