None.
The only logical conclusion that can be drawn (and granted, I'm not done with the book yet) is Hillary would have been different. There is absolutely nothing, not a jot or tittle, to make any claim at all Hillary would have been 'better'.
Jesus, a Hillary West Wing with Mook and Huma, and all the other cretins, back stabbers, liars, incompetents, toadies, brown nosers, lickspittles and idiots would have been a fucking disaster epic the equal of what Trump is inflicting, just different in it's execution.
Almost has me on my knees thanking God Almighty* the guaranteed disaster for the country regardless of the election outcome is it's the Republicans fault with President Trump and not the Democrats fault with President Hillary. Jesus Fucking Christ.
*and I'm atheist, people
I'm disgusted and disappointed by Clinton and her team, but there is just no equivalence between her and Trump. What we have now is infinitely worse than what we would have had with her in office.
And that's what I can't forgive. Her aloof incompetence as a campaigner opened the door to the Oval Office to this staggering train wreck of a human being who now masquerades as the POTUS.
It gives me no joy to point out your sentiment there is your belief.
There is NOTHING in Shattered to support that belief. It might even be generous to assert a Hillary administration would have only been as bad as Trumps. Trump did manage to organize a successful campaign from literally a cold start. Hillary has been through 2 successful campaigns with Bill, lost her first solo to Obama, and tragically, not only learned nothing from those 3 campaigns, but demonstrably became worse on her second run. That is evidence to support a worse expectation for an outcome for a subsequent administration, not a better one.
Literally EVERY page of Shattered has a fail, large or small documented on it, and it is ASTONISHING how many people noted at the time an error was being made and;
-didn't dare point it out for fear of landing on the Clinton enemy list
-were ignored by a higher up in the campaign who was shamelessly pandering to Hillary to curry favor over other higher ups in her chaotically organized campaign structure
-managed to evade Huma's protective screen around Hillary and reported a concern to Hillary and was nevertheless ignored by Hillary herself
-were dismissed for contradicting the analytics
-were ignored because their fix would have cost some money (in a campaign that raised $2 for every $1 Trump's side had)
-were demoralized because amongst the thousands of emails leaked, they were personally singled out for abuse from the higher ups
-and did raise a flag and earned an in-house suspension as a firing might be picked up by the press and generate concerns
-reported it to a higher up who was busy trying to squish another higher up and dropped the ball
-or reported to a higher up who was currently out of favor
I quit dog earing pages 1/3 of the way through the book for horrors to share here as I was dog earing NEARLY EVERY page.
The book also treats Sanders strangely, IMO. (and Hillary's response to his campaign) While saying he was not going to be a spoiler for Hillary's election, and the book pretty much is neutral about the issue, Sanders nevertheless significantly damaged Hillary in the later stages of the primary when he no longer had a clear path to the nomination but would not drop out and was still throwing barbs her way. And by that point, Trump was in great shape to secure his party's nod and was actually running against Hillary. And he was echoing concerns and complaints that Sanders was raising. Hillary was being tag teamed or good cop bad copped, and it hurt her campaign severely.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
