Yeah, and that's why it is suggested that if a Muslim lives there, he should move to a city with a more 'normal' day and night so that he can start fasting. Otherwise, he may skip the fast and pay redemption money (called "fidya"), for each day of fasting that he missed, which should be enough to feed a poor person two meals per day (or about 750 grams of food). A lot of sick and elderly Muslims do this because they cannot fast. There are more details at the link below.
