Fuck your ignorance burns .Monuments require frequent monitoring and maintaince as it is an artificial construct constantly expose to damaging elements. Not to mention legal liability and insurance and inflation etc . A monuments is not just something you plop on some grass and call it a day .

It's the resource plan to maintain the forefathers monument in Plymouth Massachusetts
In the interest of fairness, that is not your average monument. That thing is huge. It's bigger than the Soldiers and Sailors monument in Boston Common by quite a bit, if I'm not mistaken. It's also surrounded by about an acre of clear-cut, landscaped area. It's not just a statue on some grass near a building.
