Are you suggesting that religion is a baby making tool.....or....honestly, what? Fun fact, we do the same here, in the US. Natives are slightly below the replacement rate - it's the influx of immigrants that keeps us well supplied with the necessary labor and population to support our continued well-being. They're also, largely, religious. More amusingly still..within one or two generations they've been thoroughly naturalized, having more in common with the culture in which they were raised than the one which they left. That also coincides with a reduction in their reproductive rates and growing secular or even irreligious leanings.
The subversiveness of our melting pot culture might be the missing ingredient that european cultures lack, in that regard - though it's really only a difference of degree and rapidity. Immigrants end up naturalizing, to varying extents, regardless of where they go - and all of western society (really, all society, lol) has, to some extent, swallowed a portion of the american kool-aid.
