Catholics generally don't tithe the way other Christina churches do.

WE mostly just put a few dollars in the collection plate.

I imagine most of the money parishioners give is mostly used for Church upkeep/bake sales etc.

Also Im aware the Church even the Popes have had bad actors in them. It is made up of flawed, sometimes evil human beings.

The point it is an avenue to heaven which people are free to accept or reject.

You imagine? So where do you think the money for the PR and shuffling comes from? How do you think these predators get paid? That money comes from you and people like you.

Also, I spent many years in protestant churches, and it's pretty common for people to toss a few dollars in. Not everyone does the 10% thing. The point isn't how much you're giving...it's what the church is doing with it when it all adds up. Sure, some or even most of it goes to church upkeep, but some of it goes into the perpetuation of sexual and other abuse, and that's not ok.
