Several things, such as being a career military person (enlisted Navy 17 years) but now edit bodice-ripper Romance novels and formerly copyedited a high IQ society journal (they fired me for being too picky about correct grammar and spelling).
Being generally interested in socialist causes (I like things like public roads, public education, fire departments, and a military defence structure - all socialist in nature).
Having epilepsy and having a driver's licence simultaneously. (Folk here in the USA don't seem to realise that is legal - but terribly restricted like Oklahoma does now, which is why my wife and I moved away from there). WebMD cites a John Hopkins and U of MD Baltimore study ( http://www.webmd.com/epilepsy/news/20040...-accidents ) showing that in all fatal car crashes from 1995 to 1997, 44,000 drivers per year were killed each year. Of all of those deaths, 86 were a result of seizures. By contrast, take a guess at the number caused by alcohol and driving. Or heart attacks and strokes. One could argue that hamburgers are a greater danger, as high cholesterol is implicated in heart attacks and strokes. Or that Jack Daniels is made by a terroristic organisation.
That I like to ride on the back of grocery carts in sloped parking lots. A elderly man recently commented to my wife when we were still in Oklahoma about this: he thought she should get her teen-aged son under control. She pointed out I was not her son and it was my fifty-first birthday. Perhaps my waist-length pink stripped hair confused him. - James
