You had written, "At least with the electoral college the states with the biggest population won't be dictating policy for the rest of the country", but the EC (which determines the Presidential voting) and the HoR are apportioned by population. That means two out of the three elements are in fact subject to the control of states with high populations.
Of course. And that still doesn't negate my point, that the EC does nothing at all to minimize the influence of the heavily populated states, contrary to your assertion.
