Lets say the Christian God .
It's no need of an example of "proof" because this is a hypothetycal situation.
Many people see God as a beacon,  a source of power , a moral guide , don't you think it will create chaos if that suddenly dissapears ?
No and no . It's something that the world still needs , for now .

I live in England. mainly people do not believe in god, we seem to be doing ok.

But you came to that conclusion naturaly , if you take a mans dependency in a moment , you will make him unbalanced, it's like taking a cocain abuser his cocaine.
