Most Christians are cultural Christians, ie, they don't have the remotest idea what they believe or why they're supposed to believe it. This is possibly one reason they get so defensive when challenged, they don't know how to respond.
That (my bolded) is why I bother to put it out there. I prefer to discuss interesting things. If it is to involve religion, I only want to understand why it appeals to an intelligent person who values it not as consolation for a life they don't know how to value but for a value I don't understand. Otherwise why bother?
