It isn't the religious claims per se, those I can gladly deal with. It is the claim that they know better what I "truly" believe behind it all that really raises my hackles.

I laugh when all debates eventually lead to '' you have to have the holy spirit to understand this scripture' or 'god's ways are not our ways' when it has a clear normal meaning that creates problems for the theist, or you 'have to understand it in context' when context is not really relevant and what's more they can't provide a coherent context.
