The strawman is making a implicit claim that a religious work is a scientific work and asking for scientific evidence that is on the level with scientific works.
So you actually have no idea what makes something a straw man fallacy? It's misrepresenting someone's position as something easier to refute. Like if you say you want to see gun restrictions on domestic violence offenders enforced and I represent you as wanting to confiscate all privately held firearms, because that's easier for me to argue against.
We don't bring up evidence because it makes theists easier to argue against. We bring it up because they are claiming that something exists, and evidence is what we need to believe that claim. If they don't have any evidence, there's nothing more to talk about when it comes to convincing us, although that doesn't seem to phase the ones that like to participate in internet discussions.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
