I don't see how that can fulfill any sort of emotional human need when you know it's not real, but that's just me I guess.

Thats why prostitution is inherently exploitive. You seldom find a well put together, mentally healthy, ducks in a row type person who chooses to have sex for money.

I've met plenty of girls like this, and I'm not sure that what you're saying is factual. When I was younger, some of my best female friends were exotic dancers or prostitutes. For the most part, they identified the best way for them to make money at that time, were trying to save money for dance class or college, and were respectable human beings.

That's in Vancouver, though. Obviously in harder areas, where pimps are coercing young girls with drugs and so on, things are much worse. But it's not the job itself that's really the horror-- it's the way the girls are being abused.
