Pre-vatican 2, prayers for the conversion of Russia were composed by Pope Leo XIII http://catholicism.org/prayers-russia-conversion.html Of course, there are some reactionary Catholics (beyond how reactionary they usually are) who feel these should never have been stopped.
Or, read more about how this pertains to Fatima specifically at http://www.fatima.org/crusader/cr21/cr21pg24.asp
Um, I don't need to read any of that, but thank you. Yes, they were looking to convert Russia. I should have worded that differently. The conversion of Russia was not necessary to stop the events in the Fatima prophesy. The country had to be consecrated and it was.

No offense, Beth, but can you read? I'm an atheist. I just happen to know a lot about supposed mysteries. It's kind of my niche. I did a shitload of research on the Our Lady of Fatima prophesies for a client. I even wrote a bit about it.

I'm happy you came to your senses, but I have never been Catholic or Christian or anything but atheist/
