All I have to add to this thread is that it does obviously make sense to have more gay people where there's more atheists in the sense that the majority of people seem to have interpreted the principles of the 3 main religions of this world to frown upon gayness.
But as I've come to realize in the place I work now, you can find seemingly causeless spike in the population of gay people in a random place. I work up in the countryside and I'm almost certain there's way more than the average amount of lesbians in this area. I first thought it might be that they come to this area like it's some unofficial cool place for lesbians to be but a lot of them I know were born here. It's a bit like the village of the damned except with lesbians instead of blonde haired mind readers.
