Humans are taking the trait of the fallen Angel, Iblis, where Self-importance is number 1 and everyone else is number 2.
On the other extreme is following clergy who are not appointed by God and submitting to idols rather than God.
These two extremes of disbelief, one of self-importace and the other where one degrades themselves to people not worthy of being followed, is the two extremes humanity goes to.
And usually, they mix it all together, these two extremes, and are confused about everything they think they know.
