But, I read a study of Northern California trees which grew some 10,000 years ago and then for 1000yrs stopped growing and then started growing again. It was a tree ring study. I extrapolated that seeds then can lay dormant in the ice assuming it was the ice that caused them to stop growing in the first place. Sorry, I read the study many years ago and can give no reference.(December 16, 2017 at 10:13 pm)Haipule Wrote: If we look at "snowball" earth theory to explain the observed science, then many scientists have hypothesized that nothing could have survived except that which lay dormant in the ice such as seeds. Other scientists say that that is impossible because we are here. But that hypotheses ignores observed evidence.OK, to start, Snowball Earth was about 600 million years ago.
Yet, snowball earth is very recent geologic history
Geologically recent? Yes. Biologically recent? No.
Seeds wouldn't have existed at that time. Multi-cellular life was devoloping in the oceans, which would still be present under the ice.
I'd like to know which scientists are talking about seeds in ice 600 mya.
I read it before I ever heard of Snowball Earth and assumed it was referring to the events of Genesis 1:2 where the Earth was encapsulated in ice about some 10,000 years ago. Sorry, not very scientific.
If we combine Snowball Earth with another pseudoscience, "Expanding Earth". Snowball occurred first so there were no oceans before the expansion.
Some have said to me that if there was a universal flood then where did all that water go? I ask them if they live in Kansas?
I'm a surfer and have flown over vast amounts of water. All I see is ocean! However, if we read about the events of the flood, how the water came from below the earth and a lens of water came down, then that water would go back into the ground and cause it to expand and give us plate tectonics.
Expanding Earth enthusiats take out the oceans and put the much smaller earth back together again that would have been less gravitational. Do that and put a pin in all the known diamond deposits. You will see a pattern--Just saying!
The lens of water above would have acted like a hyperbaric chamber by which those indifferent growing lizards would have lived long (as well as man) and be quite large. They were too big and could not have lived in our current gravity--Just saying!
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker. Well...she's not my girlfriend "yet".
I discovered a new vitamin that fights cancer. I call it ...B9
I also invented a diet pill. It works great but had to quit taking it because of the side effects. Turns out my penis is larger and my hair grew back. And whoa! If you think my hair is nice!
When does size truly matter? When it's TOO big!
I'm currently working on a new pill I call "Destenze". However...now my shoes don't fit.
