Nor will they pay for supplements or vitamins or other OTC things. They won't pay for a gym membership, which I currently have. What my insurance will pay for is surgery that I qualify for since my BMI is over 35, which puts me in the morbidly obese category. It's not a matter of being thin or wanting to be thin. I have other health conditions that will cause my death if I do not do something soon. So, for me, it is about my health.
A lot of my weight has come about through stress, shitty sleeping and leading a sedentary lifestyle. As I said earlier, I'm not a big junk food or sugar fan. I more or less gravitate towards fruits and veggies.
Ugh, insurance is the worst. "We'd rather pay thousands of dollars for an invasive surgery and follow-up care than hundreds of dollars for preventative measures." I deal with the same shit re: Cytra-K for my kidney stones.
Unfortunately, bariatric surgery is outside of my experience, so all I can really do is wish you good luck.
