Your sight problem could be diabetes. It can cause your sight to be very strange at times.

If I lost my sight, I would take whatever steps were necessary to end my life. I absolutely cannot imagine living blind and I sure as hell wouldn't want to.
That's just stupid, my grandfather was completely happy as a blind person, a disease took his sight. People can adjust as long as they love life.
Why can't we all choose to keep both and feel fortunate we have both, hearing and seeing give us so much beauty and pleasure. I think the worst thing is to consider losing either one.
