With all due respect, I wouldn't have expected you to give any credence to the theological opinions of Dawkins, or any of the so-called "new atheists" for that matter. Sartre or Camus would be better choices IMHO.
Meh. Not everyone's a philosopher. (Camus is a great suggestion though.)
I picked something that resonated with me personally but also has some broad appeal. Whether it's "new atheism" or not Dawkins puts together a phalanx of arguments including Russell's teapot and many other points, many of which did not originate with him. As far as a "beginners guide to atheism" it does the job pretty well.
