With all due respect, I wouldn't have expected you to give any credence to the theological opinions of Dawkins, or any of the so-called "new atheists" for that matter. Sartre or Camus would be better choices IMHO.
As soon as your side presents something more compelling than the same old fallacious arguments, and insufficient evidence, to support theistic claims, we'll find someone 'better' than Dawkins.
As it is, someone that is as 'theologically unsophisticated' as Dawkins, and the rest of the 'new atheists' have no problems refuting theistic horsehit, so I think we're fine.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
