It was reauthorized because a judge decided that there was credible evidence that a target already under surveillance, for years, as a possible foreign asset had continued to act as a foreign asset.
Let me ask you this..as a trump supporter and a republican..presumably a patriot...don;t you think it would concern you if you noticed that the future (and then current) president of the united states had suddenly found himself surrounded by agents of a hostile foreign power already under investigation and continuing the same behaviors that got them on radar in the first place? It's not as if the DOJ and FBI haven't explained, in detail, the process required to get one of these warrants, and cautioned...strenuously, that he nunes/whitehouse memo is complete bullshit.
I know, I know, the fbi is #biaaaas and in the tank for hitlery and trying to murder the president with their secret society...but, cmon, back in the real world..wtf are you doing? In your best case scenario..and allowing for complete fantasy...the president was a victim of a conspiracy by a hostile country, and the FBI is just the agency tasked with figuring that out and fixing it. The whitehouse should have been cooperating, rather than obstructing.
