I thought it was a fair and honest argument. Other people may have thought of it first, but it's something I came up with on my own. I thought it made a good point. And I fail to see the false equivalence. Care to elaborate?

Too be clear I'm not a YEC, because no where in the Bible does it state that the earth is 6000 years old.
Taken literally, and assuming that there weren't gaps in the genealogy list from Adam up till now, the Bible does seem to imply that the earth is fairly young (a few thousand years old). But putting that aside, would you have been a YEC if the Bible had stated it clearly to you that the earth is few thousand years old?
