Fear & love. There is a good explanation about it in the book by John Cleese and his psychiatrist where they explain love and it all comes to the part that I circled with red paint
They talk about experiment on monkeys where some monkeys were put with their mothers in the usual way; others in bare cages separated from their mothers; a third lot in similar cages with a wire frame in the shape of a mother which was fitted with little teats in the places where the mother's nipples would normally be, from which the baby could get food; and a fourth lot with a similar mother-shaped wire dummy, but which was covered in furry cloth.

I would really recommend you MK to read this book it's called "Families and How to Survive Them" because it explains in a clear way a lot of things that you are trying to figure out but making it over-complicating.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
