In fairness to conservatives, I suppose we should note their qualified lip service to past also-rans who never had a snowball's chance in hell of securing the GOP nomination: Alan Keyes, Herman Cain, and of course Ben Carson. Black politicians are ok as long as they can be trotted out to endorse the real nominee at the convention before fading into irrelevance.
