The only age-gulf I see is musical taste. I see evidence that musical taste becomes hard-wired when we are still impressionable. We hear what passes for music when we are young and it permanently imprints in our neural pathways.
I can fully engage with young people on most any subject. Music is the exception. To my ears, Rap, Hip hop and any similar SHIT is FUCKING GARBAGE!!! Yeah, I'm opinionated on this subject. Looking at it scientifically, I have to conclude that musical taste is similar to language. We'll accept any of it during our formative years but afterward, we're pretty set in our ways.
