I wonder if there's actually a psychological explanation to that. It's like when someone is trying too hard. I feel like the same thing happens when a couple starts saying "I love you" so often that it's far more than normal when things are going wrong... so they're saying it at the end of every fucking sentence. It's like it's code for "I love you so please don't leave me *cries*". Wonder if it's the same sort of thing with the tattooing someone's name on yourself. "I HAVE A TATTOO OF YOUR NAME ON ME SO PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME OH MY GOD I WOULD NOT SURVIVE *CRIES* *CRIES* *SHITS ONESELF* *PUKES ON THE FLOOR* *CRIES*".
