Their are a number of plausible hypotheses for the origin of the universe that can be found under 'Physical Cosmology' on Wikipedia. We don't have the means of testing those hypotheses, but they conform to the laws of physics as we know them and have math that works. And for starters, it is entirely unclear that the universe hasn't existed eternally in some form. The Big Bang was a change of state of the early, hot, dense universe into an expanding one. How long that hot dense state had 'been there' and if it ever expanded before is currently unknowable.
How did God come to exist? How did God create the universe?
There is no proof that He did, and so I would not claim there was.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
